My baby brother dropped one of the kittens my cat had and i cant take him to the vet atm plz help?

He%26#039;s just laying around look%26#039;s like he%26#039;s drunk when he%26#039;s moveing around %26quot;When%26quot; he move%26#039;s his nose was bleeding at first but now it%26#039;s stopped his left eye seems to be watering and looks a little gooped up im beginning to think he has a concussion and i dont know what to really do as to help him....I cant take him to the vet atm as i dont have the money to do so...in addition he wont eat or drink anything what so every he%26#039;s barely moveing but still breathing at a steady rate his heart rate has been steady through it all....any answers would help..Thanks!

My baby brother dropped one of the kittens my cat had and i cant take him to the vet atm plz help?

If you don%26#039;t get him to a vet, he will die. If he won%26#039;t eat he will become dehydrated. If you can%26#039;t afford vet bills, you shouldn%26#039;t have pets. That%26#039;s cruelty.

My baby brother dropped one of the kittens my cat had and i cant take him to the vet atm plz help?

if you want this kitten to live it needs to see a vet.

My baby brother dropped one of the kittens my cat had and i cant take him to the vet atm plz help?

definitely take it to the vet. an ounce of love is worth a pound of fluffy love.

My baby brother dropped one of the kittens my cat had and i cant take him to the vet atm plz help?

First of all, it sounds like the kitten is quite young still. It would help if you could give an approximate age of the kitten.

But if the kitten%26#039;s nose is bleeding, it sounds to me like there was some severe physical trauma from the fall and I highly doubt the kitten will last through the next day. The best you can do is to keep the kitten warm and comfortable, preferably close to its mother. Apparently, money is an issue, but if the kitten won%26#039;t eat on its own, you can try to get some kitten formula from a grocery or pet store and use a baby dropper to feed the kitten manually. It%26#039;s possible he could pull through if he takes food, but any psychological damage will remain regardless.

Just keep an eye on the baby, keep him warm and if he starts to convulse or his breathing gets labored, it%26#039;s more than likely he%26#039;s going to expire.

My baby brother dropped one of the kittens my cat had and i cant take him to the vet atm plz help?

You need to ask your parents to take the kitten to a vet. If someone allows their pets to have babies the people should be aware that vet visits will be a necessity. (Animals have birth complications too ya know...) As others have said, if you can%26#039;t afford or are unwilling to take a pet to the vet in situations where the animal is mauled, dropped, clumbsy, sick, etc then you shouldn%26#039;t be having pets. (Despite popular belief, they do not heal themselves each and every time.)

Hound your parents if you have to, just get that kitten to a vet who will know for sure if something is wrong. (If the kitten is dieing, at least you%26#039;ll end its suffering by taking it to a vet.)

My baby brother dropped one of the kittens my cat had and i cant take him to the vet atm plz help?

right first things first.....the kitten definitly needs to see a vet, the fact that the bleeding has stopped could mean he is bledding internaly.

if the kitten isnt eating or drinking hes gonna be feeling pretty rough right now.

ring up your local vet and explain the situation you are in.....if you cant afford his treatment a cheaper alternative is to have him humainly put down. its not fair for him to be suffering!

All you can do at the moment is make him comfortable, let the cat see to him as well dont take her away. give him a little quiet corner were he can have a rest.

Teach your son also the importance and responability of handling young and old animals. if he must pick them up make sure her is sitting on the floor or on a sofa. at least the drop wont be so far then.

but in all seriousness .....get to a vet

My baby brother dropped one of the kittens my cat had and i cant take him to the vet atm plz help?

well, for one thing, this is why you should keep young children away from animals, especially young animals. This was a lack of good judgement on your part.

You either need to take the kitten to a vet, or force feed it some electrolytes (you can buy electrolytes at a feed store, theyre for calves) otherwise, do the humane thing and give the mother cat and her kittens away immediately because if you don%26#039;t know how to take care of your pets properly, you have no business owning any. no offense.

My baby brother dropped one of the kittens my cat had and i cant take him to the vet atm plz help?

if u really cared like you say you do, you would take him to the vet. something is obviously wrong

My baby brother dropped one of the kittens my cat had and i cant take him to the vet atm plz help?

Dont let babys hold kittens. DUh! Take your kitten to the VET now. You are doing a horrible thing buy not taking him. He has a concussion and will die unless a vet intervenes. If you cant afford to take him you shouldnt have any animals. Take him to your local SPCA and theyll do the right thing unlikeyou who is torturing a poor helpless baby animal buy not getting the treatment. SICK!

My baby brother dropped one of the kittens my cat had and i cant take him to the vet atm plz help?

To be very honest, you don%26#039;t have ANY other choice but to take the kitten to the Vet ASAP.

If you don%26#039;t have the money talk with the Vet and ask if they%26#039;ll allow you to make payments...if you%26#039;ve been going to a certain Vet for any length of time they will be more than willing to help you out.

Letting the kitten suffer is NEVER the right thing to do.

Is Bikram yoga an effective calorie burner?

I recently started doing Bikram Yoga (sometimes called Hot Yoga). It is a 90 minute class in a room heated to 110 F. The class is strenuous and I do feel my heart leaping out of my chest at times. I%26#039;ve gotten quite attached to this kind of workout because it gives that satisfying wrung out feeling at the end. However, I need to lose 20lbs so it needs to be a calorie burner!

I wanted to know if anyone has done this type of workout and gotten any solid calorie burn data, like by using a heart rate monitor. I%26#039;ve seen all sorts of stats online from 400 to 900 cals per hour. Anyone got something solid?

Is Bikram yoga an effective calorie burner?

I have studied yoga for 10 years and have taken a bikram class.

I would not solely rely on the bikram class for weight loss. How many are you taking a week 5? 3? 1?

Keep taking the class (I like the deeper stretch the heat provides) but augment it with other activities so you are working out 45 minutes a session 4-5 days a week. Throw in a couple longer ones if you can.

Is Bikram yoga an effective calorie burner?

Yoga is a good calorie burner. It%26#039;s very good exercise. Combined with eating healthy, you can lose weight by doing it.

However, Bikram Yoga (a.k.a. Hot Yoga) doesn%26#039;t burn any more calories than other Yoga. Performing exercise in heat doesn%26#039;t burn more calories than performing the same exercise in cooler areas.

SVT (Supraventricular tachycardia)?

My doctor has told me I have suspected SVT. I have been having episodes of rapid heart rate for a month or two. These attacks only happen at night (they wake me from sleep), and I can control them with deep breathing usually within a minute.

The attacks are very unpleasant and quite scary, but he did not seem worried, and said they were not life threatening. I have been asked to keep a diary and go back in a month or 2 so he can evaluate if I need treatment. I still can%26#039;t help but worry tho. Does anyone else have this? How do you cope, and should I be worried?

Also, I excercise every day for 30 mins which my doc says is fine, and I was wondering until I get a diagnosis should I be putting any restrictions on my life? For example I enjoy walking up on the moors and the occasional drink, but should I take any extra precautions?

Any advice would be great, I know I should listen to my doc and not worry, but as it%26#039;s my heart I feel frightened at the prospect of something being wrong :(

SVT (Supraventricular tachycardia)?

This really sounds like Wolf Parkinsons Syndrome. One of my athletes had the same symptoms as you, and the cardiologist cleared him to play football. I spent hours talking to him about this and concluded that this was rare. However, each time my athlete%26#039;s heart rate went up to 160 and above, he was rushed to the hospital for ekg and other observations. Which was then sent to the cardiologist for further assesment. We controled his rapid heart rate with a ice towels to the back of his neck, which seemed to help. He finally got a surgical procedure to stop the extra electrical impulse going to his heart, and he currently enjoys a normal athletic life.

SVT (Supraventricular tachycardia)?

I appreciate your anxiety about your ailment. But you need not to warry as now you are talking to a cardiologist.SVT is very common. Many people have it. Do you have any other symptoms- say shaking of fingers / hand, recurrent diorrhea, feverishness. These symptoms can be had if you have hyperthyroidism. Exactly, as your doc. told, wait for sometime and see whether your problem abates. Meanwhile, when you feel this palpitation again, try to blow air against closed mouth and nostrils. The exact investigations you need are a thyriod fuction test and a documentation in ECG the rhythm you have during the attack. Depending upon these results further approach must be decided. If no thyroid problem, then starting with little tranquilizer, if symptoms persisting, you may have to go with drugs like beta blockers( of course, under medical supervision). Do not get panicky or elso you have more symptoms. Good luck.

SVT (Supraventricular tachycardia)?

Hello there... I%26#039;ve found a good link with this info for you to read below. The best remedy to help allay some fears is to be well informed and educated about prevention and what to do if it occurs for almost anything you%26#039;re going through...

Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia (PSVT) is common in more women than men, ages 20-30. %26quot;Paroxysmal%26quot; means it suddenly comes and goes. PSVT is a general term that means any sudden onset and sudden termination of a very fast heart rate of about 150-250 beats/min. That exact range depends on the source. Some say it is 160-280. PSVT may occur more during pregancy, but if you%26#039;re being closely followed by your obstretrician, hopefully that allays some fears. And like your doctor assured you, it is rarely life-threatening.

Whenever one experiences any such fast heart rate, it can feel like %26quot;palpitations%26quot; and the feeling is definitely enough to cause you to wake up from sleep.

Vagal maneuver by bearing down or deep breathing with bearing down upon exhaling are the number one things to do if you feel palpitations. You can do a vagal maneuver by %26quot;bearing down%26quot; just like you%26#039;re going to have a bowel movement ...or cough. You%26#039;re exercising--you%26#039;re doing your heart good but it%26#039;s best to communicate with your doctor about it. Excessive caffeine or alcohol intoxication can cause tachycardia, or a heart rate %26gt;100. Well, you know caffeine is a stimulant and it will speed up your heart rate. Alcohol is extremely hydrophilic (loves water) so it sucks water out of your system and dehydrates you. When that happens, your heart tries to pump faster to compensate for low blood volume, to meet circulatory needs to send blood to vital organs (heart and brain).

I am highlighting the %26quot;prevention%26quot; portion of this source: http://www.upmc.com/HealthManagement/Man...

Prevention:

Limit alcohol, smoking, and caffeine

Avoid stressful situations

Avoid excessive fatigue and lack of sleep

What is the Best heartbeat to train, also best cardio for rugby?

I have started using the gym cardio equipment to train with a heart monitor. I was wondering what is the most effective heart rate to burn fat and increase fitness. Secondly what is the best cardio equipment for rugby fitness, treadmill, Bike, sitdown bike, rower, crosstrainer? I live in a place where there isn%26#039;t room to train properly outside so the gym is my only option. Thanks for your advice.

What is the Best heartbeat to train, also best cardio for rugby?

The latest word is that you do a minute or two of anaerobic training in the middle of an aerobic session. I don%26#039;t know whether there%26#039;s anything to it.

The Energy Efficient or Recovery Zone - 60% to 70%

Training within this zone develops basic endurance and aerobic capacity. All easy recovery running should be completed at a maximum of 70%. Another advantage to running in this zone is that while you are happily fat burning you may lose weight and you will be allowing your muscles to re-energise with glycogen, which has been expended during those faster paced work-outs. Check out the Fat burning zone page.

The Aerobic Zone - 70% to 80%

Training in this zone will develop your cardiovascular system. The body%26#039;s ability to transport oxygen to, and carbon dioxide away from, the working muscles can be developed and improved. As you become fitter and stronger from training in this zone it will be possible to run some of your long weekend runs at up to 75%, so getting the benefits of some fat burning and improved aerobic capacity.

The Anaerobic Zone - 80% to 90%

Training in this zone will develop your lactic acid system. In this zone your individual anaerobic threshold is found - sometimes referred to the point of deflection (POD). During these heart rates the amount of fat being utilised as the main source of energy is greatly reduced and glycogen stored in the muscle is predominantly used. One of the by-products of burning this glycogen, is the runners worst enemy, lactic acid. There is a point at which the body can no longer remove the lactic acid from the working muscles quickly enough. This happens at an individual heart rate for us all and is accompanied by a rapid rise in heart rate and a slowing of your running pace. This is your anaerobic threshold or POD. Through the correct training it is possible to delay the POD by being able to increase your ability to deal with the lactic acid for a longer period of time or by pushing the POD higher.

The Red Line Zone 90% to 100%

Training in this zone will only be possible for short periods of time. It effectively trains your fast twitch muscle fibres and helps to develop speed. This zone is reserved for interval running and only the very fit are able to train effectively within this zone.

Treatment for Excessive Fat and Weight :-

PHYTOLACCA BERRY%26#039;s Mother Tincture is perhaps the safest and sure fire way of loosing excessive fat around abdomen. With Phytolacca Berry once you loose the excessive fat and weight you don%26#039;t get it back because you body takes care of itself after that and keeps you from gathering up excessive fat. It is prescribed after having a baby too, to get the tummy to loose its flab and to make it flatter and tighter. And after loosing weight with this you don%26#039;t get flabby it tightens up the flab and skin along with helping your body to shed the excessive accumulation of fat around the girth

The dosage is 15 to 20 drops of the tincture in half a cup of hot water thrice a day half hour before or after meals.

Avoid Chocolates, Coffee, Mints, Red Meat and Carbonated and Alcoholic drinks while taking Homeopathic Medicines. You have to take it for at least 30 to 45 days after that you start to feel the results.

To the best of my knowledge its the safest and the most sure fire way of loosing fat and weight and keeping it of for keeps. Excellent remedy for Obese people who cant seem to shed weight despite trying.

Homeopathic Remedies can be found at all Major Herbal Stores or could be bought on line, In most of the world Homeopathic remedies are quite cheap and easy to find and they do not need a prescription.

Take care and God Bless !

Could an ear plugged up with ear wax cause blood pressure to rise to 200/114?

I have high blood pressure and am on medication. The generic for Inderal, long acting. I take 360 mg a day in 3 divided doses. 120 mg/dose. I woke up in the middle of the night with ringing ears. I checked my blood pressure and it was 200/114. I went to the emergency room after taking 120 mg of Inderal. They hooked me up to a heart rate monitor and told me my heart was fine. After two hours my blood pressure went down to 145/91. Anybody have any idea what could have caused this? The doctor didn%26#039;t know. They found my left ear plugger with was and cleaned out the was. Later that week my blood pressure rose to 170/100, but other than that it was 120-140/85-90. The 170 reading was probably due to lack of sleep. I slept poorly that night.

Could an ear plugged up with ear wax cause blood pressure to rise to 200/114?

Ear plug has nothing to do with your blood pressure rise! If you have inheritant this blood pressure than it may not be controlled with single mean! Have you under gone any ultrasono graphy of your abdomen? See in30%of high blood pressure people kidney is found to have a cause! Get your kidneys function tested both way anatomically and physiologically too! You have not disclosed your age! And lipid profile also! Any way your blood pressure has no connection with your earplug! Stop taking inderal and switch on atenelol which is a same thing called beta blocker with amlodipine to have heart protection as well! You may take enalepril for kidney protection if not amlodipine! You should under go certain tests before I suggest anything else! Always YouRsmE

Could an ear plugged up with ear wax cause blood pressure to rise to 200/114?

NO, ear wax does not cause high blood pressure. You have had this problem for awhile and it is being treated appropriately. Many things can make it go to high levels.

Could an ear plugged up with ear wax cause blood pressure to rise to 200/114?

Your blood pressure is not under control. I suggest that you contact your doctor to work toward getting your BP under control. I doubt that the ear wax buildup is related to your 200/114 reading.

Could an ear plugged up with ear wax cause blood pressure to rise to 200/114?

No. I would be sure and monitor your B/P frequently now, you might need an increase in your medicine.

Could an ear plugged up with ear wax cause blood pressure to rise to 200/114?

This really strange and normally I would say no..ear wax does not increase blood pressure. BUT..I too take inderal...and I too have had recurrent ear wax problems, ringing in the ears and blood pressure going up and down. Your blood pressure may have went up due to anxiety over the ear problem and doc visit. Maybe we need a new medicine.

Could an ear plugged up with ear wax cause blood pressure to rise to 200/114?

Ear wax does not cause high blood pressure. But high blood pressure can cause ringing in the ears. Go see your doctor to get your blood pressure under better control.

Could an ear plugged up with ear wax cause blood pressure to rise to 200/114?

you need to to get better control blood pressure

Could an ear plugged up with ear wax cause blood pressure to rise to 200/114?

Your heart is working way too hard and your arteries are enduring more stress than they are designed to. There is a reason for your high blood pressure; get yourself to a cardiologist who will seek out the reason(s) and initiate a treatment plan that works. If you%26#039;ve been advised to lose weight and or exercise, it%26#039;s time to get serious and commit to doing those things. Hypertension is called %26quot;the silent killer%26quot; because it will get you sooner or later without proper treatment.

Good luck!

Is my niece symptoms are for serious or it's just normal?

My niece is 2 yrs old. He had this symptoms since now, He has a very rapid heart rate, that i can%26#039;t count it. His Respiration is 35, His Pulse Rate is 75. And he have a cough,, no phlegm at all,, Nurses I need your help

Is my niece symptoms are for serious or it%26#039;s just normal?

A normal adult pulse is 60-100 and respiration rate is approximately 14-20 per minute.

A 2 yr olds pulse should be a bit higher than 75 bpm.

I think you must have miscounted. Pulse and respiration can vary a great deal depending on how active or if the child is coughing crying etc.

If childs cough continues for three or more days or worsens if he/she has a fever of 101.0 or higher or a rash seek medical attention

Is my niece symptoms are for serious or it%26#039;s just normal?

Be smart, call a doctor or go to a 24 hr clinic.

Is my niece symptoms are for serious or it%26#039;s just normal?

Always go to a doctor if something isn%26#039;t right. He may have accidently ingested a load of caffeine (coffee laying around?) or it could be nothing.

Is my niece symptoms are for serious or it%26#039;s just normal?

maybe panick attack of some sort. seek medical help NOW ASAP before death occurs.

Is my niece symptoms are for serious or it%26#039;s just normal?

He needs to see a doctor. They can check on his cough to see if it%26#039;s asthma.

I have just been diagnosed with SVT. Is there anyone else outthere who is taking flecainide medicati

I was just diagnosed last nite after having a svt attack. My heart beat went to 240bpm and after an hour of the heart rate not going down i was given adenosine which was very scarey. I am now on a waiting list to see a cardiologist. When i told them i was going on holiday next week they decided to put me on medication just in case. They put me on flecainide 50mg two times a day. Is anyone else on this medication for svt. I read the side effects and they appear to be endless? also cos im going on holiday i wanted to know if i can drink a resonable amount of alchol with this medication? If anyone has any information it would really help!

I have just been diagnosed with SVT. Is there anyone else outthere who is taking flecainide medication 4 it?

Flecainide in an anti-arrhythmic drug which works by correcting irregular heartbeats and slowing down the speed at which your heart beats.

It is usually taken twice a day (every 12 hours). You need to know how your body reacts to flecainide before you attempt to drive, use machinery etc. You are obviously aware of the (potential) side effects, so I won%26#039;t go into that!

I%26#039;m assuming that you were hospitalised for your SVT and that you were in the A%26amp;E/ER dept when you were given adenosine. I%26#039;m a little suprised at your quick discharge, as usually flecainide is started in hospital, where you would be kept under close constant observation, so that they can assess how your heart reacts to the drug.

As it%26#039;s only a week until your holiday, is there any chance that you could delay going away until both you and your doctor are sure that flecainide suits you? If you can%26#039;t, then just to be on the safe side, I%26#039;d advise that you make a note of the address and telephone number of the hospital closest to where you will be staying. You could program this into your mobile phone. It may also be useful to carry some information in your wallet/purse to say that you are on flecainide for SVT.

Flecainide can make your skin more sensetive to sunlight, so you need to avoid exposure to strong sunlight and use a high factor (above factor 15) sunscreen until you know how your skin reacts.

It is recommended that alcohol should be avoided when you are taking flecainide (sorry!) as it may further depress normal heart function. It%26#039;s also worth bearing in mind that alcohol can make you careless, and it%26#039;s important to take your flecainide at the right time! Smoking can also reduce the absorption of flecainide.

Hope this is of some help to you. Good luck, have a great holiday!

I have just been diagnosed with SVT. Is there anyone else outthere who is taking flecainide medication 4 it?

If your heart rate went up to 240bpm i wouldn%26#039;t even think of drinking any amount of alcohol.

I have just been diagnosed with SVT. Is there anyone else outthere who is taking flecainide medication 4 it?

When I was diagnosed by a professor as having SVT, I was discharged without any medication %26amp; it has never come back.

I have just been diagnosed with SVT. Is there anyone else outthere who is taking flecainide medication 4 it?

You can drink alcohol but it is not advised to do it regularly. Do it as a %26quot;secial%26quot; occasion, not an everyday thing. Learn to like decaf things too. Caffeine is a heart accelerant, so be careful there too. I take Tenormin for my SVT, I take 20mg per day and it seems to be under control. SVT is an electrical wiring problem in the heart. The Doctor will explain it very well but basically the heart keeps getting stimulated to be, even though it already is. Hence the rapid heartbeat. There are things you can try, none worked for me and I was given the Adenosine to stop mine too. Look up SVT on the net and you will find the things to try to stop it if it comes back. The medicine dosage is a trial and error deal, they will keep changing it until you have just enough to stop it, but not so much as to be too much. As an offshoot my b/p is now down to 106/78!

I've recently ruptured my achilles, what can i do?

My summer plans were to join a gym, get in shape, and get a body for the beach. But after screwing up my foot everything went down the toilet. What can i do to lose weight? Something to keep my heart rate up to burn fat. I can lift weights, but just lifting wont get my heart up to burn the weight (I don%26#039;t think).

I%26#039;ve recently ruptured my achilles, what can i do?

My achilles tendon finally blew out due to past injuries, breaking

my foot 2x, and countless sprains and strains. I ended up having

5 different casts put on, each time after they would move my

foot at a different angle and then recast.

Things to do afterward: massage the incision! Do EVERYTHING

they advise you to do in rehab! Keep it as flexible as you can.

Re: exercise. You probably will need to keep it to non-impact

exercises. I work out on resistance weight machines at the gym-

30 minutes 3x weekly-be diligent! In 10 months I have lost 52

pounds and countless inches...it%26#039;s amazing and incredible! Your

body will become firmer and more toned, and your metabolism

will continue to run after you are finished with your workout. I

started on the Atkins...stayed on it for almost 2 months solid. I

then went to a regular diet...making fried and fast food a real

exception...maybe 2-3x monthly. Sauteed, grilled, baked, roasted

or slow-cooked is how I prepare the meat now...lots of veggies

and salads and fruit, cutting back on the %26quot;side dishes%26quot;. I eat a ton

of pop corn...it lets me munch forever, and it%26#039;s good for me also.

Stick with it...recuperation is not forever and you will feel so much

better afterward. Get with a regular exercise plan and stay with

it--incorporate it into your lifestyle--make it a priority. Good Luck!

I%26#039;ve recently ruptured my achilles, what can i do?

First off.... be careful with that tendon. Go slowly when it comes time to rehab.

And yes there are some things that you can do to get your hear rate up ... upper body aerobics. Working the arms and torso and waist can still burn lots of calories.

Also you can use a stationary bike. but instead of riding it, sit in front of it, set the resistance as high as it can go and pedal using your arms.

Hoped this gets you to thinking in the right direction because there is alot you can still do

I have chronic migraines, what the hell are my doctors doing?

So I%26#039;m 16 years old and I have migraines frequently, almost daily ( on a scale of 1-10 I would rate the pains 4-8). They%26#039;ve been going on since December and getting worse, I never had a problem with head aches before. I%26#039;m also borderline hypertension, I have high blood platelets, white blood cells, and red blood cells. They%26#039;re blamming my blood pressure problems on being overweight and the headaches on being a teenager. Apparently, sudden migraine complexes are completely normal for children according to these doctors. I also have a fast heart rate. They have no idea what%26#039;s going and I keep having to go and get tested for numerous things. They said I%26#039;m a case. They gave me anti-depressants and said that those would help headaches, right after I started taking them I began coughing blood, so I stopped (constricted blood vessel in my throat?). Now they%26#039;re making me take medicine for Epilepsy saying that%26#039;ll prevent them. This is stupid. Can anyone help?

I have chronic migraines, what the hell are my doctors doing?

Epilepsy medication is called anticonvulsants and they are commonly prescribed to prevent migraines. I took an anticonvulsant Topamax (200mg) and never had one migraine on this medicine. Anticonvulsants are difficult to get used to require at least a month to get used to the side effects such as slowed thinking, tingling extremities which go away the longer you are on the medication. For your high blood pressure, you could try a betablocker like atenenol which also prevents migraines, but not nearly as good as topamax. Try this drug in the summer before school starts, because you will dumber than a box of rocks for 2 weeks, lol

I have chronic migraines, what the hell are my doctors doing?

helpin brah

I have chronic migraines, what the hell are my doctors doing?

It%26#039;s hard to tell exactly what%26#039;s going on, but I would highly recommend getting a second opinion.

I have chronic migraines, what the hell are my doctors doing?

Dont take too many painkillers.

I have chronic migraines, what the hell are my doctors doing?

You may have a pinched nerve. they really need to check that. My mom had migraines for years and that%26#039;s what hers wound up being caused from.

I have chronic migraines, what the hell are my doctors doing?

If it is Topamax, this is commonly given for migraine prevention.

I have chronic migraines, what the hell are my doctors doing?

You need to see a neurologist. You should be on blood pressure medication. Also, Amitryptiline, if you haven%26#039;t tried it, is a pretty good headache preventative. Also, stay away from the over the counter headache remedies as they contain caffeine and cause %26quot;rebound headache.%26quot; You don%26#039;t have to live like this. Go to different doctor.

I have chronic migraines, what the hell are my doctors doing?

i would get a new doctor. i have had problems with migranes since i was about 13. mine come from high stress and eye sensitivity. get a few other opinions especially since they have you on medication for something you might not have.

I have chronic migraines, what the hell are my doctors doing?

In a nut shell? I%26#039;ll tell you what the hell your doctors are doing...

TREATING SYMPTOMS!

I have education for you and your mom and best of all, its free with no hidden agenda. You need to take charge of your life and going through this chronic condition has given you a wake up call that they can%26#039;t do ANYTHING for you but prescribe, prescribe, prescribe...

I have a video for you. Message me and request the video and share it with your mom and or people who are concerned for you.

I have chronic migraines, what the hell are my doctors doing?

You need to stay away from caffeine. Most teenagers get headaches from drinking too much soda! Cut out soda and drink just water, they will eventually stop. If they really are migraines your doctor will give you either zomeg or imatrex, not an anti depressant unless they think that you are stressed and that is causing your headache.

I have chronic migraines, what the hell are my doctors doing?

The docs are not stupid. The meds they gave you are commonly used to help prevent migraines. It may take several tries to find one that works for you so don%26#039;t get so discouraged. Hubbys first med worked well for a 6-8 months and then even upping the dosage didn%26#039;t help so they tried something different that has worked well for a couple of years. Also if you are overweight that most likely is part of the cause of you high blood pressure and pulse and the extra weight is putting a huge strain on your heart. You didn%26#039;t mention if you are male or female but women are more prone to migraines because of the hormone fluctuations. I am not sure what you are expecting from the docs but they seem to be doing a great job if they are already trying migraine prevention meds on you. Many docs don%26#039;t even bother to try prevention meds for people with chronic migraines so I would consider you lucky to have such great doctors.

I have chronic migraines, what the hell are my doctors doing?

Did they put u on Neurontin? that is an anti-seizure med that is used to help people that have nerve problems. Nerve issues can lead to Migraines.

Have you gone to see a Chiropractor? They can help with headaches. Or go see a Pain Management Doctor. They have alternatives means that help people with pain issues.

Have you had a MRI done on your head and cervical spine (neck)? You may have pinched nerves that are causing the migraines.

I went through a span of 10 months with migraines. They put me on a low dose of an Anti-depressant...low doses help people with pain issues.

I hope I answered your question...I know its rough but you are bound to find a doctor that can help you!! good luck and take care.

I have chronic migraines, what the hell are my doctors doing?

Take %26quot;goudagirls%26quot; advice and see a neurologist or headache/pain specialist. (and forget about the lady who wants you to IM her.) Are your docs sure the

cardiovascular problems aren%26#039;t tied in with your headache problems? Hypertension can be related to head pain and it is then very important to control the hypertension.

It is not uncommon for antidepressants and even epilepsy meds to be given to folks who have painful, chronic headaches that don%26#039;t respond to other drugs. It doesn%26#039;t mean that the docs think your depressed or epileptic--they%26#039;re just trying to find something that works.

Also, if you overuse headache pain medications, you will end up having more frequent and painful headaches. A good doc who knows about %26quot;rebound headaches%26quot; can help you basically go through %26quot;withdrawal%26quot; from overuse of headache meds without suffering more than you already are.

Concentration and relaxation exercises may help. Also, you have to recognize what conditions (like what foods or what kinds of weather or what time of day, etc) triggers headaches, so you can take control of these things.

I have chronic migraines, what the hell are my doctors doing?

yes, high blood pressure will cause migraines. Do you take birth control pills? They cause migraines also. I think you need to find a different doctor.

I have chronic migraines, what the hell are my doctors doing?

I%26#039;ve had migraines for years. unfortunately, the source of chronic migraines is hard to determine. It could be so many things. I tried preventative medicines, too.. and they didn%26#039;t work. (they put me on topamax, inderall (blood pressure meds), and depakote (seizure medication, also used for bipolar disorder)..NONE of them worked, they have run tests and can not figure out why I get them.

I take imitrex 100mg when I get a migraine and it works well. I have to take phenegran (anti-nausea medication), too.

I had the worst migraine this morning, I was sooooooo sick.

Anyhow, I don%26#039;t know what to tell ya. Nothing really has helped me.

Oh, I do use that HEAD ON stuff--- it doesn%26#039;t cure your headache but it sure does make your forehead COOL and it distracts me from the pain. I love the stuff.

I have chronic migraines, what the hell are my doctors doing?

There%26#039;s a new development in migraine therapy:

Heartrate while exercising?

I am working out at more of a fat burning level to lose weight. 5 days a week for 45 minutes on the elipitcal or treadmill(or 25 minutes of each to equal 50 minutes) after work and sometimes weights 2 or 3 times a week and then another half hour on the bike or elpitical at lunch. My heart rate usually stays in the 130%26#039;s sometimes 140%26#039;s. Is that good for the heart as well or do you need to be going at a cardio level like 160? I sweat alot and get a good work out each time.

I am 33.

Heartrate while exercising?

Fat burning zone is a misconception, almost a myth. You are ALWAYS burning a mix of free fatty acids and glycogen as fuel. At lower heart rates, the percentage of fat used is a bit larger, but at higher heart rates, you burn still more fat, even though the proportion vs. glycogen is lower.

Formulas for max heart rate and %26quot;zones%26quot; are only a very rough approximation. The zones shown on machines are just about worthless. If you%26#039;re going to train by heart rate, you need to get a monitor and figure out your max and threshold for yourself.

The heart rates you listed are all high enough to contribute to cardiovascular fitness. What you consider %26quot;fat burning%26quot; is what endurance athletes call %26quot;base training%26quot;, although at heart rates that low, they go for considerably longer than 45 minutes. If you%26#039;re only going for that short a time, you%26#039;d be better off going hard.

Erika: I keep seeing references to the %26quot;20 minute rule%26quot; posted here. Its nonsense. You are always burning some fat, and it takes a lot longer than that to run through your glycogen stores. More like 2 hours. Running out of glycogen is known to runners and cyclists as %26quot;bonk%26quot;. A very unpleasant situation where your legs go instantly dead and you feel extreme, instant hunger.

Heartrate while exercising?

At 33 years old your heart rate should be between 159 -122 for more than 20 minutes to burn fat. Assuming you are changing up your workout and doing it at least 3 hours a week total. For the first 20 minutes of any cardio workout your body is burning off stored glycogen in the muscles. You don%26#039;t start to burn %26quot;fat%26quot; until after that as a general rule of thumb. To figure out your target heart rate take 220 subtract your age, that is your max heart rate. Multiply that number by .85 and .65 to get your fat burning zone. You should also do some strength training on the days you do not do cardio. I do cardio every other day and on the other days I lift. Hope this helps you.

%26quot;that helps but does it make your heart healthier as well or do you have to be working out at 160 or above for that?

Also does changing up your workout mean using different machines? I do an aerobic exercise 5 days a week and mix in weights 2 or 3 of those 5 days%26quot;

It does make your heart healthier and no you do not want to stay at 160 or above. Go for duration and not speed. It is better to work out for longer periods of time rather than just try to get your heart up to the max level. Also, it sounds like you are on the right track for changing it up. Keep up the good work and be consistent and safe with it. You should see results pretty quickly. Are you eating right as well? If so, like I said you should see some great results soon.

Side effects of ct scan???

i had a ct scan done almost 2 months ago for a pain in my lower right abdomen (which i thought could be appendicitis) but it came out as a normal study.....2 days later i was having tight pains in my chest and my left arm was numb for a little while...i started feeling like i was going to die and my breathing was a little short plus i was having heartburn symptoms also....my bro, which is a chiropractor, thought i was just having a panic attack....i have now been having small , weak pains every now and then on my left side on the pec area plus been under a lot of depression and stress about this....i went to an internist and had an ekg done (which was normal), cholesterol test (which was normal), bp was 128/70, and heart rate was normal.....the doc said i was too young too be having heart problems and thought it was stress related.....ive also been seein a chiropractor and gettin reg adjustments bc i have sublexation on my thoracic area and cervical area....whats the deal???

Side effects of ct scan???

If you have given up weeds it is a withdrawl phenomena, you will alright in a couple of weeks, because the body is adjusting to normal, such odd symptoms are common. You should have strong will power than you will make it.

Best of Luck.

Side effects of ct scan???

I think you need a shrink!

Side effects of ct scan???

you sure it wasn%26#039;t a MRI? and no there should not be the symptoms you talk about, are you sure they are real or are you a hypochondriac?

take a couple ibuprofen at meal times and stop thinking you are dying,

Hear a ticking sound?

i had my mitral valve replaced about three months ago . and anyone that knows about mechanical valves knows they make a clicking sound that you can actually hear and feel when in a quit room or when trying to fall asleep . ok heres my problem when this begins i start getting what i would call an anxiety attack where my heart rate rises and i start freaking myself out thinking im gonna have a heart attack but i always feel better after awile but it is very annoying happens alot what can i do ?

Hear a ticking sound?

if you come up wit some breathing techniques

Hear a ticking sound?

Relax

Hear a ticking sound?

lay off caffine for a while?

Should I jog everyday or run every 2 days?

I tried both. WHen I Run, my heart rate goes up to 178 BPM but by the time I complete 4 miles, i%26#039;m totally beat and sometimes don%26#039;t finish. When I jog slower, my heart beat between 145-150, it%26#039;s i can do it forever but I stop when I%26#039;m bored. Which is healther and more benificial? objective is cardio (long term) and some wieght loss intially.

Should I jog everyday or run every 2 days?

Jogging - gives you benefits than running. Its better for your knees, wears them out less; you%26#039;ll actually burn fat more than running because your body uses up energy faster than it would with jogging. Once you%26#039;ve lost the weight increase the speed to meet the cardio requirements.

Should I jog everyday or run every 2 days?

Everyone knows exercise is bad for you.

Should I jog everyday or run every 2 days?

you should exerise every day so i would go with jogging and maybe bring up the speed alittle

Should I jog everyday or run every 2 days?

Sounds like jogging everyday would work better.

Should I jog everyday or run every 2 days?

Give your body rest to recoup and repair injuries, if any, by jogging on alternate days. More than that you definitely need professional advice.

Should I jog everyday or run every 2 days?

Studies have shown that you get more out of one day of strong exercises the one day of light or no exercises.

I would suggest to do slow long jog,45 Min%26#039;s to an hours, every other day and on the opposite day run short sprints then jog very slow till the heart goes back down then sprint some more.

Or could alternate it with biking and/or swimming and even horse back riding.

Should I jog everyday or run every 2 days?

Go for what you like and will stick with. Don%26#039;t let anyone tell you you are doing it right or, wrong. You%26#039;re in no competition. As long as you%26#039;re maintaining a routine that works for you, you are doing it right. Jog, run or mix it up to suit your whim.

Should I jog everyday or run every 2 days?

you are doing great

keep up the good work

Chest pains....?

Im 21, 5ft 5in 130pounds, BMI 21.6 healthy. But i keep having pains under my left boob and in the center of my chest a half inch above where my rib cage meets but only like 5, quick 1 secound surges then it gos away for a few hours. Im super tired all the time and if i do find the energy to go to the gym I feel fine unless I get a heart rate of 176 or higher then I will almost faint. No family history of heart problems, No smoking/drinking, No medications, No STD%26#039;s, No Mono.......Possiably the only thing I can think of is stress...

Could this not be a serious problem?

Chest pains....?

The only thng I could think of that could be serious in a healthy young person like you is maybe heart valve problems. Has anyone ever told you that you had a heart murmur? Either way, if it%26#039;s been going on for awhile, you might check with your doc. It%26#039;s hard to tell people exactly WHAT you have, but docs are usually good at saying what it%26#039;s NOT. Good luck Oh, by the way, B/P is great!

I can't figure out why ? please help me with my answer?

it started few days ago , suddenly I fell something and is a

sound from my stomach ,and in these two days I can hear my heart rate clearly (like beat for almost a second) and sometimes I hear the sounds almost like starving sounds but I know is not starving sound and I can hear them all day , and when I wake up,sometimes my leg is like beating itself for few seconds , but my leg wasn%26#039;t moving is a feeling within . sometimes my breast fell little it tingle ( prick ) .

My body doesn%26#039;t feel anything else , just fell something in my stomach and I don%26#039;t know what happen to me , the most time I heard is the heart beating.

I can%26#039;t figure out why ? please help me with my answer?

I think you need to see a doctor, just to check that theres nothing bad going on;

Help plz chest pains =[?

hello sweetheart: I%26#039;m sorry to hear that you%26#039;re in so much pain and nothing is being done about it. first of all I want you to know that when you panic,it will make your condition worse.fear feeds pain. I know you can%26#039;t help it,especially when the symptoms are new to you,and you%26#039;ve never experienced it before. I%26#039;ve noted your symptom%26#039;s and the test given to you are not enough to diagnose your condition. what you need to ask for upon your return to the doctor is as follows: ( a CBC,plus blood gasses. an MRI. an ECHO,cardiogram, and a EEG. a complete URINE ANALYSIS. if you can, get a complete body scan! this will cover everything. if not, also get the test for arterial blockages, and a thyroid scan. these should reveal your ongoing problem. after and only after all of these test have been given to you,and the results are still negative, then you%26#039;re having what is known as anxiety attacks. the symptoms can be all the same. which means you have a lot on your mind, and problems that are interfering in your everyday life that you are unable to sort out and prioritize alone. you will then need to see a psychotherapist. He or she will help you to get to the root of your problem, and help you to weed out the causes.you will notice that after a few session%26#039;s, the pain will no longer exist. I am able to share this with you because I to have been down this road before. and was also told that there was nothing wrong with me. I persisted and was diagnosed with a hole in my HEART! Write these test down and show them or take the iniative, and tell your doctor, you want these test done .he has no choice, but to comply.

Help plz chest pains =[?

maybe something youre eating is causing you to get severe heartburn...try and track the foods you%26#039;re eating by writing them down and start eliminating things one at a time to see if you can rule it out that way. good luck!

Help plz chest pains =[?

Could it be Pleurisy?

Look it up on Yahoo Health and see what you think of the symptoms. I have had that before, it is scary and painful.

I hope that helps...

Help plz chest pains =[?

I%26#039;d go back to the hospital and don%26#039;t leave until they give you an answer...

Help plz chest pains =[?

There are many other causes of chest pain and upper stomach pain than your heart. At your age it is unlikely for the pain to be cardiac related, although not unheard of. Keep a log of the pain in a notebook...when it starts, how long it lasts, how it feels, what you were doing when it started, what seems to make it better (if anything)...all this can help your doctor track down what is happening.

Some of the things it could be? Possibly your gall bladder, an ulcer, a hiatal hernia, GERD (gastro-esophageal reflux disease), or any number of other GI illnesses. Try taking a dose of an over the counter stomach medicine, like Mylanta or Maalox when the pain comes on (NOT Pepto Bismol- it can aggravate stomach problems because of its aspirin-like properties!). Whether it helps, or doesn%26#039;t, make sure you tell your doctor about taking it and the results (it will help him/her to diagnose your problem). You may get some relief from sleeping with several pillows under your back in a semi-sitting position, if the pain is caused by GERD or a hiatal hernia. In any case, go to your doctor and get examined.

Help plz chest pains =[?

hey jay i thnk that your going to be ok yes you still have pains and your scared but thats natruel. in the last few days that we dident talk i got chest pains because i fell off a latter and ther was a poll and my chest hit the poll on the very top and its been killing me and i know that this happed to u along time but sometimes with the cold and heat it mey cause some kinda of pain. and if your scared ask some1 that gets up a few times a night to walk in and if your ok leave you alone but if your heart is beattng fast to wake you up and drink an glass of water and then when you go back to sleep you will feel better that some1 is helping you out and that your going to be ok. and what my mom said to me is %26quot;try to think of happy thoughts and put aND make sure that it says in your mind that YOUR GOING TO B OK AND THAT THE PAIN IS (FOR U) CAUSED BY THE WEATHER %26quot;

My heart rate increases. Heart beats so strongly in front of her that i can listen 2 it. My hands start tremblling. My voice softens a little.

M nt normal in front of her.

I didn%26#039;t hav dared to talk 2 her even once.

Is this normal?

What r methods 2 get an access 2 her?

Hw 2 propose her in dis condition?

Help me plz!!!!.........

Thank U 4 ur great answers!....

Plz b friendly with me....

I don%26#039;t know how 2 get access 2 her? Girls cn reply better!?

sure... 2 pts! hehe

I don%26#039;t know how 2 get access 2 her? Girls cn reply better!?

That was extremely difficult to read. please don%26#039;t post like that on the internet.

Don%26#039;t let yourself be controlled by your fear. If you do, you have no one to blame but yourself.

As well, don%26#039;t obsess over her. Girls can tell and it comes off badly.

I don%26#039;t know how 2 get access 2 her? Girls cn reply better!?

just be yourself and everything will be fine!

I don%26#039;t know how 2 get access 2 her? Girls cn reply better!?

Are you crazy? Don%26#039;t propose to her. Why be with someone that you can%26#039;t be comfortable and be yourself with? That%26#039;s no fun. She is probably way out of your league and that%26#039;s why you feel so wierd and ackward around her unless you are a teenager or something. Have a few drinks and then talk to her if you are always nervous. Why would she want to marry a stalker that she doesn%26#039;t even know?

I don%26#039;t know how 2 get access 2 her? Girls cn reply better!?

wow... you are in deep for this girl. Im sorry but i have no suggestions... but good luck

I don%26#039;t know how 2 get access 2 her? Girls cn reply better!?

ok 1st of all that is so hard to read- can you please just type normal!? well if i undertand right..... this isnt unusual- everyone gets nervous around people that they like. just tell her how you feel- but dont come off as strong as you typed up there- if you go up to a girl and say you want to marry only her- thats bound to creep her out a little. but what i want to know is how you have such strong feelings for her if uv never even talked to her? then this is just a silly little crush- you cant have such strong feelings for someone and want to marry them if youve never even talked to her. and by the way- it sounds weired asking how to %26quot;get access to her%26quot; like ur trying to break some code or something- and by the way you sound like a creepy stalker

I Just Had The Weirdest Premonition...?

Ok, I%26#039;m being very serious last night, I had a premonition or a dream that I had started a fire in my grandmother%26#039;s yard; I was just playing though it was an accident and she was across the street talking to a neighbor and came over to put the fire out because it was spreading. She used an old blanket and when she got done, she was complaining that the doctor%26#039;s told her heart rate was too low and be careful on what she was doing. I had asked her to walk with me to get a cold drink from the candy lady because it was too hot and I was thirsty. Before we could get halfway down the street to the nearest stop sign she was complaining that her heart was giving her problems and she couldn%26#039;t see anything because everything was getting blurry. One of my best friendsin the neighborhood had helped her lay down in her yard and helded her head and started crying because she wasn%26#039;t saying anything or doing anything. (Please Wait The Second Part Is Coming!)

I Just Had The Weirdest Premonition...?

The fire Chloe, represents an underlying problem in health with your Grandma

(you may want to ask and see when her last checkup was and or, talk to your mom about it and tell her your concerns so that she may get your Grandma to a doctor)

The blanket represents care and comfort from friends and or family sheltering your Grandma from harm (ie, health related issues) By your Grandma using the %26quot;blanket%26quot; it means that she is already aware of her health and knows something that she%26#039;d rather not mention to family members so%26#039;s not to worry them (which is not the way to go, I feel she should be seen kk?) and if she has%26#039;nt already been diagnosed with %26quot;diabeties%26quot; she needs checked for that also.........

The rest of your dream prem is just that, a dream, just get Grandma to her check up and let the doctors do the rest (and know, always know, you%26#039;re a special girl.......)

(Hey, I knew your # at least had something to do with 5 LOL)

Jump on this asap kk Chloe?

All the Best to you and yours, Shad @)~%26gt;~

I Just Had The Weirdest Premonition...?

I think that you are just worried about your grandmother%26#039;s health. She seems to be in a weakened condition. You may fear that any little action on your part may trigger a medical emergency.

I would suggest that you not fixate on the fear of a future event. Instead, enjoy every moment that you can have with your grandmother while she is still alive.

After I had a stent put in-blood pressure is low?

would appreciate some suggestions other than metoprolol (which I am taking now) cause I also take xanax, which lowers my heart rate. My pressure was 90/50 at my 3 month checkup. Dr. said it just meant my heart didn%26#039;t have to work as hard but I think it is too low. I have NEVER had HIGH blood pressure even when they found the blockage. Can you help me? and Thanks

After I had a stent put in-blood pressure is low?

do you get tired more than normal? And why was a stent put in? Which artery? Not that it matters. I had 3 put in and about 6 or 8 months after the operation, I discovered I had developed anemia for some reason. So I started taking iron and that helped more than I dreamed. Before that, I thought I%26#039;d NEVER see Europe again. Now, I friggin LIVE here!

After I had a stent put in-blood pressure is low?

thanks for the info and I%26#039;m glad you are doing ok and live where you wanted to!! Report It

Lie detector, how?

how exactly does a lie detector work? i thought it works with your heart rate? but what if your really nervouse, and your heart is beating really fast, can a lie detector ever be wrong?

Lie detector, how?

The lie detector works by measuring physiological responses such as respiration, blood pressure, galvanic skin response, etc.

See the link.

The lie detector is actually worthless. It has no value in detecting truth or falsity. It is not admissible in a court of law. The sooner these pieces of junk or thrown on the trash-pile, the better.

Lie detector, how?

More than just heart rate, galvanic action, breathing, brain waves, etc.

My boyfriend suffers episodes of breathlessness and pale skin, what is it?

I am a concerned girlfriend, my boyfriend suffers episodes at random times, maybe once a week or every 7-10 days without cause or warning. His symptoms when the attacks happen are:

*Gaunt/Pale face dark circles round eyes

*Breathlessness

*Racing Heart

*Occasional numbness in little finger/calves

*Pressure headaches

*Clammy skin

*Restlessness/Anxiety/Short temper

He has had numerous ECG%26#039;s that have been fine and a blood test which came back normal. He doesn%26#039;t suffer from Chest pain when it happens, however was perscribed beta blockers to calm his heart rate and lower blood pressure which have worked well and reduced symptoms greatly.

My boyfriend suffers episodes of breathlessness and pale skin, what is it?

Most all the symptoms you list could be panic attacks...with the ECG coming back o.k and the fact that you also list short temper and anxiety...Most people don`t know the difference between a physical attack and a panic attack when it happens to them, they will swear it`s a heart problem or some other physical problem...he needs to go see his Doctor and explain that he might be having panic attacks then they can take it from there...I`ve suffered from them when I was 19 years old right after my mother died.

My boyfriend suffers episodes of breathlessness and pale skin, what is it?

call the doctor

My boyfriend suffers episodes of breathlessness and pale skin, what is it?

Asthma

My boyfriend suffers episodes of breathlessness and pale skin, what is it?

Think you need to find a better Dr. Sounds like some disease or heart ailment to me.

My boyfriend suffers episodes of breathlessness and pale skin, what is it?

I%26#039;ll bet they%26#039;re seizures. Those sound like the same exact symptoms my sister has when she has them.

My boyfriend suffers episodes of breathlessness and pale skin, what is it?

i am no expert but it sounds like some sort of panic attack. is he stressed? or got things on his mind

My boyfriend suffers episodes of breathlessness and pale skin, what is it?

maybe he should ask his doctor to refer him to get an MRI scan of his head this would detect if he is suffering seizures. Has he been tested for anaemia as this can cause your heart to race which would cause numbness and tingling people who suffer from this also tend to look very pale

My boyfriend suffers episodes of breathlessness and pale skin, what is it?

if ur bf has been checked out by a dr and his e.k.g. is normal, his problem is anxiety attacks. they may come on at any time. he has all the classic systems. to treat this, he must realize, he has underlings problems. such as things that r bothering him, but he dousent relize it. tell him to talk to a close friend, or a phycologist and if he does this, he will find the problem will go away. it dosent happen overnite. and his systems will go away. god bless

My boyfriend suffers episodes of breathlessness and pale skin, what is it?

contact a doctor and if you%26#039;re his girlfriend, why is your avatar of a male. is this his account? just wondering...a little strange

My boyfriend suffers episodes of breathlessness and pale skin, what is it?

I think I have answered your boyfriend before on this subject. He was waiting on thyroid test results I think. These episodes are called anxiety attacks and although very very frightening not really harmful. Is he taking the beta blockers on a regular basis? They should be taken same time each day. They will eventually settle down but it is possible that some area in his life is making him un-happy and causing them. It is stress related in most cases. I am a nurse and experienced this with patients and also went through a similar thing myself a few years ago. I am now off the beta blockers and 100% fine. so hang in there. Give him hugs and try talking him through them when they occur. x x x all the best.

My boyfriend suffers episodes of breathlessness and pale skin, what is it?

I have a condition called inappropriate sinus tachycardia and that caused similar symptoms. Has he had a 24ECG and an exercise stress test. My condition was diagnosed after ruling out everything else.

If the medications are working then be happy with that otherwise you need to press your consultant for a more accurate diagnosis.

I hope he feel better soon.

Edit:

I am a little concerned about some of the answers above. Beta blockers would be the drug of choice for tachycardia and high blood pressure and the cause of these symptoms could be anything from stress to a heart condition and Iam sure the doctor has looked at these possibilities and is making an informed decision.

I have borderline high blood pressure.?

I regularly workout. I do not smoke and quit using smokeless tobacco about a month ago. I eat healthy, very, very seldom do I eat fast food. There is no history of heart disease in my family. My resting heart rate is 91. BP=123 over 91.

Any recomendations for lowering this? I dont know how I could be more active both aerobically or anaerobically. Thanks

I have borderline high blood pressure.?

Your resting heart rate is a little high and diastolic could take a drop. How is your weight? Weight loss could lower your BP. What about cholestorol levels? Your concerns have to do with overall cardiac health so don%26#039;t forget about lipids. Stress or chronic pain can account for some of your blood pressure. Can you address that?

I have borderline high blood pressure.?

I would check it every couple days for a week, if the lower number doesn%26#039;t go bleow 80 I would see a doctor and and get checked out. you don%26#039;t want to fool around with high bp 123/91 is not real bad ,but worth checking out why the lower # is high

I have borderline high blood pressure.?

Try not eating salty foods or fry foods, even though you say you eat healthy still look at back of packages and you will see how much salt is in most products. Other than that go to the doctor.

It seems that you are doing the right things to stay healthy, continue on that route. You will be OK because you take care of yourself and you care about yourself. Good man.

I have borderline high blood pressure.?

Tell it to urrr doctor,he can help, high blood pressure is nothing to play around with; u dont want a stroke?

Echocardiogram and other stuff?

Im having an echocardiogram done tomorrow and i was wondering if i can wear a bra or not? and also, if anyone has insite into what i could have, im very curious. Im 18 ( not overweight, never done drugs or drank) no anxiety and no high blood pressure, but i have been having bad short of breath for like 2 years and latly everytime i stand up i get very lightheaded. Also i had worn the heart monitor for 24 hours and my average heart rate was 114 and the highest it got was 158, now im going for the echocardiogram and the doc mentioned looking into my valves. Also i have some dull pain (sometimes) lasting for about 2-3 minutes and other times i have sharp quick pains all around the left side of my chest. Any ideas? thank you

Echocardiogram and other stuff?

Your echo will not be bad at all. I would imagine you could wear a bra most times we scan below the ribs. It is very good you are getting it done. That heart rate is really scary. I hope they get you fixed. I could guess you might have a mitral valve problem, or a congenital abnormality with maybe small ventricles! I really hope they get you feeling better. Please don%26#039;t smoke or drink that will make anything much worse

Sincerely

Nate RDMS

Echocardiogram and other stuff?

You can wear a bra to the echo testing site, but will probably have to remove it at the actual test.

There is nothing to fear about the test, they will put some jelly on your chest, and then move the probe around.

It sounds as if you might have Mitral Valve Prolapse. The mitral valve in your heart, between the right ventircle and the right atrium is not working correctly. It is letting blood flow back into the atrium.

If that is the case it can be corrected sometimes with meds, and in RARE cases surgery, where they actually replace the valve.

Echocardiogram and other stuff?

You%26#039;ll find out about the bra.

I suspect you%26#039;ll have to take it off, but wear a hospital gown. There are about a dozen leads. Well, the leads don%26#039;t go on the breast, so you may be able to wear it.

Just wear comfy shoes for walking or jogging.

Don%26#039;t worry about what it may be. Valve problems can be from an infection, mine was. They can heal with rest, as mine did. The pains are unusual. If you eat healthy, you should be ok.

HELP!!!! should i see a doctor ????

ok when ever i excersise i have a heart problem my heart rate gose from VERY low to VERY high i thought it was from a bad mecine but they all say the same thing and show drastic changes it will go from 36 to 156 and once it went from 57 to 200 what could be wrong and it is not just when i start to work out that it gows from low to high it happens like 15 mins and 30 mins later also please help what could this be i am 14 with high cholestorol on bolth sides of my family and high cholestrol my self please help i am 14

HELP!!!! should i see a doctor ????

OK. 36? That is too low. I am not sure you are taking your pulse correctly. 156 is not too high when brought on by exercise.

The correct way to take you pulse is to feel just below your thumb on the inside of your wrist and not with your other thumb because it has a pulse, press lightly. Count for 15 seconds and multiply by four. Or simply count for 60 seconds.

HELP!!!! should i see a doctor ????

well....a trip to the doctor is wise...they will do EKG and ultrasound and maybe blood test, thyroid,to see if there is something wrong...maybe electrical problem..good luck....

HELP!!!! should i see a doctor ????

what kind of exercise are you doing? If you are not in good shape and are doing any sort of aerobic exercise its not unusual. HOWEVER....you should not mess with your health. If you are concerned talk to your doc.

HELP!!!! should i see a doctor ????

Honey, this is not what I would call a normal reaction to exercise, especially if it occurs after you have cooled down following exercise. Go talk to your parents and go see your family physician. I think you will probably need a referal to a cardiologist who can give you an EKG and some tests to evaluate how your heart responds to exercise. This is something you need to do soon. I would not advise you to do strenuous exercise until this has been evaluated by a professional.good luck.

HELP!!!! should i see a doctor ????

look,if you take ur pulse correctly;you should know that normal heart rate is between 60-100 at rest but if you be an athlete in good condition 36 may be normal.the maximal heart rate is 220-age;in case of you 206,you can reach it in very severe activity;because cardiac out put is a product of heart rate multipy stroke volume when you have a 36 or 57 resting heart rate,it means that your stroke volume should be high so when your heart rate reaches 200;you should be in very hard activity;so generally it seems a bit abnormal;so it%26#039;s better to visit your doctor;perhaps it%26#039;s some kind of autonomic nervous system dysfunction;manifestations such as exteremity color change in cold weather;fainting while getting excited can be in favor of it;I hope there would be nothing important.

Stents and blockage?

ok my question is my mil claims to have had a 100% blockage in her main artery or widow maker she is 49 and had a stent put in but she keeps complaining about cardio rehab which has been 4 months now. is she for real or is this another attempt to get attention put back onto her. i don%26#039;t mean to be mean but she said she had a heart attack and went and did a stress test got dizzy normal b/c she%26#039;s 250lbs plus and then she went shopping at the store and came back later ok if they found 100%blockage wouldn%26#039;t she be out of breath and in so much pain she%26#039;d go straight to the er and they wouldn%26#039;t wait a day or 2 days to do the angioplasty?! she said she%26#039;s had chest pains but never went to the hospital?! she blames me for stress and my sister in law and went into the er for a panic attack and supposedly they found this and she almost died i%26#039;ve had chest pains and a heart rate of 220 and i went straight to the hospital wouldn%26#039;t you? do you think she%26#039;s lying or overdoing it

Stents and blockage?

Often people under stress dont get the full understanding from their doctor. If you are concerned ask your MIL to call her doctor while you are there and ask some specific questions or go with her to her next appointment. You should be quite concerned if you had a heart rate of 220. What are youdoing about that? you certainly need medication to keep that rate below 100 -Zero in on yourown problems is my best advice.

Stents and blockage?

In this country it is very rare to place a stent in the left main Coronary artery. The standard of care is bypass surgery. Left main disease is called widow maker because a 100% blockage will KILL YOU.

If she had a stent placed in any artery she would be a number of medications for LIFE.

It is possible to have a positive stress test and not be admitted. A non-imaging stress test will not show you what artery is affected. In my experience people with left main disease have dramatic stress tests that are stopped early and then the patient is hospitalized for further study.

I do not think all the data adds up. I would get more information if you think she is manipulating things.

Stents and blockage?

Don%26#039;t be more concerned than the MIL is.

She could have had a 100% blockage, but her heart did its own bypass. A co-worker%26#039;s husband had this happen. Did not even get a stent.

With a severe blockage, if she overdoes something, she%26#039;ll be out of breath. That said, if she was athletic in her youth, she could have very good collaterals, and so she%26#039;s fine if she does not excede a certain limit.

Tell her to carry her nitro spray. If she doesn%26#039;t she%26#039;s just a drama queen. I carry mine whenever I leave the house. You probably do, too. She%26#039;s trying to give you a heart attack.

There%26#039;s a guy at work gets some chest pain if he chases a bus, but it always goes away. He already had a bypass, too. I take Ranexa to reduce angina incidents. I just noticed Blue Cross covers $248 a month for the bottle.

MIL should be feeling better from rehab. Nothing to complain about. I%26#039;ve done it 4 times the past five years, and maintaining cardiac fitness is just part of a painfree angina-free life.

There are two widow makers. Both mine are 100% blocked. They were at 99% when I had my triple bypass. Great colllaterals built during an athletic youth and adulthood still work great to let me be athletic.

Crazy marijuana?

my first time trying it and my heart rate increased tremendously. i thought i was going to have a heart attack and die. i was deathly afraid and i began to cry. my friends told me to calm myself and finally after about 5 minutes it went away. i wonder if this has happened to anyone else? is it normal?

i was so afraid that i was going to die that i stayed away from it ever since.

Crazy marijuana?

haha oh yeah...

my friend, i do believe you experienced what i would like to call a PANIC or PARANOIA attack! haha

it happened to me because i was soooo scared and knew i was doing something illegal!!

I was shaking uncontrollably.. finally I calmed down and was fine...

this happens to a lot of people the first time they try it.. that will go away, and will be a much better experience if you do it again.. and it wont kill you! i promise!

but then again.. its good that it scared you away.. bc you dont want to get caught and get introuble either

Crazy marijuana?

BAHAHAHAHA

Crazy marijuana?

Good, don%26#039;t do it ever again.

Crazy marijuana?

stay away formit but yeah those are the side effects. Haha its wasn%26#039;t the high you were looking for was it haha

Crazy marijuana?

its all in your mind..... you can freak yourself out and it happens.

-FACT-

VIAGRA KILLS MORE PEOPLE THAN WEED!!!!!!!

wally- full of crap!

Crazy marijuana?

Hopefully you were scared enough to never smoke it again.

Crazy marijuana?

haha that didnt happen to me.. all i remember is throwing up like crazy my first time....

Crazy marijuana?

It can increase heart rate and sometimes cause arrhythmia. Feelings of paranoia are common for some people. These in combination made for a very bad experience.

Crazy marijuana?

yea its normal it just gets worse and worse from there dont do drugs bossman

Crazy marijuana?

you went into it with fear.next time just chill relax.nobody i know has ever died or overdosed while smoking, lol

Crazy marijuana?

Good for you .......it costs to much any way....you will be able to buy real things for yourself.

Shine on........!

Crazy marijuana?

Seems like you had a good experience so now you will never want to touch this dangerous stuff again. I know many people from my school days who have died or are mentally sick from it.

Crazy marijuana?

yes it is normal it always happens the first few times. next time it happens just go to sleep.

Crazy marijuana?

Dis has happned to me b4 it doesnt hurt u anyt so jus be carfeul when u smoke it agian

Crazy marijuana?

That happens to a lot of people the first time they toke. The first time can be scary if you don%26#039;t know what%26#039;s coming. After that, however, it%26#039;s much better.

Crazy marijuana?

Obviously that was not a good sign. You want to be someone don%26#039;t do it again. Be glad you had enough common sense to stop.

Crazy marijuana?

it is totally normal.....the herbs will make you better not worse i can assure you just ...make sure you use it in moderation .....don%26#039;t smoke like your willie nelson or snoop dog because your not...smoke a hit or two and see how that feels then ajust accordingly

Crazy marijuana?

oh its fine

it naturers oldest medicine

you just freaked cause you had never done it before

Crazy marijuana?

it was your first time! yes it is normal you get used to it don%26#039;t worry

Crazy marijuana?

maybe it had some other drug with it dont trust those things now days you dont know what your getting. scary you could have died

Crazy marijuana?

You probably just had an anxiety attack. Marijuana can cause anxiety, nervousness, paranoia, forgetfulness etc... Hope I helped!

Love

Abi

Crazy marijuana?

Lmao. You were scared. You are trying something illegal and it%26#039;s new to you, your adrenaline started to rush and you freaked out. It%26#039;s okay, don%26#039;t worry. Pot is one of the few drugs that is acceptable by most bodies

Crazy marijuana?

Most likely you have an allergy to the smoke or something. Sounds like an asthma or panic type reaction. Stay away from pot and smoke.

Crazy marijuana?

marijuana is not a stimulant in fact its a depressant

what you experienced was a panic attack brought on by the vicious lies that people spread about marijuana use

scare tactics used to bring a stigma around a very harmless drug

Crazy marijuana?

A friend of mine tried something called %26quot;salvia,%26quot; which had a similar effect on him. Others, who also normally smoke marijuana, haven%26#039;t had any side effects like what you%26#039;ve described unless the marijuana was laced with something. But, it is probably best to stay away from all of it all together.

Crazy marijuana?

Sometimes when you smoke the chronic stuff it will do that to you. I would suggest your first time taking one hit...but I don%26#039;t suggest doing it! lol When I smoked for the first few times my head would spin and my stomach got upset like I was going to puke! I didn%26#039;t smoke for a long time because I was scared. It is probablly a sign not to smoke. Think of something better to do. Yah it might be the cool thing...but in the long run it really isn%26#039;t. Just be careful. You probablly won%26#039;t ever die from it...unless it is laced with something. It sorta sounds like it was because the way you described sorta sounds like an acid or mushroom trip. Maybe they put some hash on the top or something. Another lesson: don%26#039;t smoke with strangers. Oh don%26#039;t smoke at all!

Crazy marijuana?

yeah, your first time is always the hardest, because your body isn%26#039;t used to it. Don%26#039;t worry. If you ever want to try it again it%26#039;ll be a much better feeling. That shouldn%26#039;t happen all the time. Just the first two or three times. Next time just try not to smoke as much and you%26#039;ll be okay.

Crazy marijuana?

No it is not normal, marijuana does not do that ! Either it was laced with somthing or you had an irrational fear of doing it !

Crazy marijuana?

This is normal... marijuana increases heart rate. This can give you the idea that you are having a heart attack. The only attack you are having is a panic attack. Take iot slow... marijuana is an enjoyable thing that is relativly safe. NO ONE HAS EVER DIED DUE TO DIRECT USE OF MARIJUANA... dont let anyone tell you otherwise. Kick back and enjoy yourself.... but enjoy in moderation so you dont become a lazy pothead like me.

Crazy marijuana?

hahahahahahaahAAA...

yes this has happened to me. It involved a cold night and a crazy fat blunt, me and my bf were sharing it when my heart started racing like crazy and i was getting super paranoid like OMG is my heart going to explode it%26#039;s going so fast!!! %26amp; then I got super dizzy and then I threw up. the first and only time i%26#039;ve ever %26quot;Od%26#039;d%26quot; on marijuana.

But no you won%26#039;t die at all keep on puffin the happy grass :D

P.s. all this talk about marijuana has made me pop out the bing%26#039;er.

p.P.s. the Salvia stuff is CRAZY NUTS. i%26#039;ve tried that and it makes you halucinate like crazy i will never touch that stuff again, i swear i saw big bird from sesame street walk into my kitchen. I was not mentally there for like 10 minutes then you get super super hot. I don%26#039;t understand how something like that is legal and marijuana isnt.....?

Crazy marijuana?

stay off the wacky weed! lol just stop it can seriousally kill you.

Please help with science question.?

A researcher discovered a sensory receptor that detects decreasing oxygen concentrations in the blood. According to the principles of negative feedback, it is likely that stimulation of this sensory receptor will produce which of the following types of responses:

a) A decrease in heart rate

b) An increase in the respiratory rate

c) An increase in physical activity

d) unconsciousness

e) A and B

Please help with science question.?

It will be (b) because when oxygen concentration dectreases in our blood then our respiratory rate increase so as to fullfill oxygen requirement of body by intaking more oxygen

Please help with science question.?

B.

Can Xanax cause tacycardia?

A Soldiers Wife in Need of understanding Anxiety?

I am A Very Proud Army Wife and My Husband has been deployed for about 14 months and 3 days now granted I%26#039;ve seen him for R%26amp;R and he got to come hoe for 24 days in July since he%26#039;s been gone for a second time I%26#039;ve been having my heart skip beats with trouble breathing and dizziness and blacking out also my heart rate is usually about 80-110 bpm at night I%26#039;ve been to the doctor and they say I%26#039;m fine but starting to think it might be anxiety don%26#039;t know though ! for those of you who have someone in the military know what I%26#039;m going through and how do I cope until he gets home ? any advice?

A Soldiers Wife in Need of understanding Anxiety?

I can%26#039;t realy help, as I%26#039;ve always been the deployed and never the left at home. But i can say this...B/c of the way most Army wives handle their husbands being deployed, I%26#039;m glad to hear you%26#039;re in so much pain. I know that sounds horrible, but it%26#039;s just that you truley love your soldier and you%26#039;re not one of the statistics. Tell him I said congrats on finding one of the good ones, I guess we are among the lucky ones, and it almost seems like you%26#039;re the last of a dieing breed. Good luck and keep your head up.

A Soldiers Wife in Need of understanding Anxiety?

My best friend just got home. I refused to watch the news. And I emailed often. Needing to know she was still alive. I don%26#039;t have anything else to say. Sorry. I%26#039;m sure he%26#039;ll be fine. My thoughts are with you.

A Soldiers Wife in Need of understanding Anxiety?

why does everyone always think the worst and then if it happens they are supprised? Have faith woman!! You have to know it in your heart he WILL come back to you!!

A Soldiers Wife in Need of understanding Anxiety?

I am not a woman going through what your going through (keep you in my thoughts), but I know anxiety. Doctors did nothing for me, but Acupuncture worked miracles, and there are so many new age concepts that just work. I would do some research, and try something I mean what else are you going to do? Right? I know some people are iffy on the whole new age thing, but Acupuncture has been around for thousands of years. Good luck I hope this helps you!!! I would take Acupuncture over medication any day.

A Soldiers Wife in Need of understanding Anxiety?

just relax and have faith. There is nothing to worry about- don%26#039;t watch the news and send him 2 letters a day from different post offices. you don%26#039;t want to start having anxiety attacks. smoke a joint to mellow out if you can. I will put your family in my prayers.

A Soldiers Wife in Need of understanding Anxiety?

Just remember how brave he is and that is is fighting for something important, our freedom. It may not help your anxiety but you must be very proud of him. I would be more worried if you weren%26#039;t experiencing anxiety. Just remember how much you love him and that hopefully you will see him soon.

A Soldiers Wife in Need of understanding Anxiety?

The armed services provides service for significant others and spouses just like you. You are not forgotten. Contact your local veterans office or doctor and tell them of your plight. They may connect you with others in your area, groups for counseling, etc. Families, people with the same problems. You%26#039;ll find your not alone. An armed service registration office will be able to help also.

A Soldiers Wife in Need of understanding Anxiety?

i dont blame u for worrying it does sound like anxiety that is a normal reaction to worry about your loved one

try not to think about whats going on were your husband is dont constantly look at the news for a glimmer of hope that this will end try to concentrate on your life and whats happening to you i am sure you re husband does not want you to worry if it gets worse and u find you are constantly obsessing about this some medication may help perhaps there are support groups in your area for soldiers loved ones this probably would help the most because there are a lot of worrying loved ones left behind hope this helps you

Someone Please Tell Me Whats Really Wrong With me?Doctors And Nurses Only Please?

I have had a pulse in my ears for over 8 months. At first it would appear only in the mornings.About four months ago I started hearing it around the clock and louder.I went to a gp and she found a innocent murmur, other than that post tramatic stress. She put me on meds and im seeing a therapist, but the gp refered me to an ent just in cast there was something other wrong with me other than ears.He checked me over and spent time with me and found nothing. He did say that I had patolous eustacian tube.Weight lost is normally assocaited with this and also he said that tmj would contribute ,but other than that ,there was no reason for scans or anything I would just have to live with it.I don%26#039;t have high blood pressure. My heart rate is about perfect most of the time .I have lost 30 pounds in four months and he said this would contribute to hearing my heart so much .The weight loss.Other than the pulse I feel ok.We did move to a lot higher altitude.Could weight and altitude cause this and PTSD

Someone Please Tell Me Whats Really Wrong With me?Doctors And Nurses Only Please?

you have stress disorder only.get treatment for it.you could need amitryptiline or fluoxetine.

only other thing concerned is your 30 pound wt loss.it need to be checked why .whether it is natural or any organic cause, get to your physician.

Someone Please Tell Me Whats Really Wrong With me?Doctors And Nurses Only Please?

You need to consider the structure of the vertebra at the top of the neck. . C.1..This vertebra is a ring shaped bone.. On either side there is a hole, allowing the passage of the artery to the cranial cavity. Should this vertebra be positioned at an angle which could impede the blood flow, you would get an exaggerated sound of the pulse, through bone conduction.

The cause of this condition would be strictly structural. I get this on occasion but generally attempt to keep my neck muscles well stretched, as it is the muscles attached to these bones which cause them to move out of their normal position.
