Has anyone used Panacur with dog?

I afraid, it%26#039;s been 2 days now. She gets really hyper, think her heart rate goes up (she has heart cond) so I afraid that may not be very safe-my vet says vomiting should be the olny side effect. I put a call in to diff. vet at he same office, waiting for a call back/ Any ideas on where to get beter inf?

Nausea/vomiting SHOULD be the only side effect - if you are getting others this could be an allergic reaction. If you vets do not respond, find another clininc - fast. Really, vomiting is the only side effect I have ever seen. I had wormed by puppy who had pretty severe SAS, a congenital heart defect, with Panacur and he did fine.

If the dog is %26quot;getting hyper%26quot; as in becoming active and running around, the heart rate would be up.....that happens when they run or become active.

I would think an actual %26quot;allergic reaction%26quot; to the drug would be causing a lot more symptoms.

Until recently Panacur was only available through a vet. The vets have now changed to Pyrantel and Panacur is over the counter.

A lot of the rescues that I have had were given Panacur. I only had one dog react to it and he did not have heart problems. He had projectile diarrhea.
